Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Atatürk University and a faculty member in the Division of the Psychology of Religion, Prof. Dr. Muhammed Kızılgeçit wrote his master's thesis on the theory of religious behaviour in al-Ḥārith al-Muḥāsibī and his doctorate on the relationship between loneliness, hopelessness and religiosity. He began his academic career at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University in 2012 and has continued it at Atatürk University since 2018. He has more than 150 publications and over 30 projects, ranging from the psychological effects of artificial intelligence, ChatGPT and the metaverse on the individual to psycho-social support programmes in the earthquake zone. His grounding in the psychology of religion allows him to address the human relationship with AI along the axes of dependency, superficiality and mental immunity.
